Neat & Tidy

A lot of people ask me how I stay organized while living in the Travel Trailer and are often surprised when I tell them living the the Travel Trailer doubled the house work… because Yes it takes 2 - 3 hours to DEEP clean the entire Trailer and you’re done, but it takes 2.5 seconds and a few missed placed items to make the place look like a complete pigsty.

So my first tip BASKETS they are so very nifty, in all shapes and sizes and hold all your things in one place and make all those things inside easily movable!! I’ve got baskets for outside toys, inside toys, bathroom supplies, medical supplies, clothes, socks, seasonings, kitchen items, dog things, diaper things, baskets in baskets in baskets!! Makes tearing down and setting up home sweet home that much faster and easier especially when they all have a home!!

I guess that's my next little tip and I feel like this is key to organizing… EVERYTHING has a Home! When organizing/moving in you find the most ideal spot for all your belongings and that spot becomes it’s home meaning that’s where it stays and once you're done use it, you put it back. You quickly develop the mantra “Don’t put it down, Put it Away!” while living in a trailer because the smallest places get cluttered the quickest!! Another step to this is having a routine and staying on top of everyday tasks.

It may sound pretty basic, but knowing your routine and what habits to replace can help you set up your day for success!! Having a daily routine is the best way to track your habits (whether they’re good or bad) and the best way I’ve found to keep me on task and on track all day long!! For example in the trailer (with no dishwasher and a washing machine that's only big enough for 2 pairs of jeans) staying on top of dishes and laundry is an everyday, multiple times a day and my least favorite tasks… so part of my morning routine is getting them started and out of the way than my least favorite tasks are done, I have an accomplishment under my belt for the day which helps encourage me to keep the ball rolling!! I’ve also found dealing with MCAS it’s easier to find triggers and to replace them when you know where and when you're being exposed. It’s a lot of work but it’s the life we choose and the life we love!! <3
